Kiddi Caru Writtle Falling Leaves

The Forest School area was blanketed with leaves over the last few weeks. So, the children used rakes and brooms to clear the leaves off the grass and pavement. They worked together to sweep the leaves into piles and used mathematical language to describe the sizes, such as ‘big’, ‘small’, ‘tiny’ and ‘massive’. Forest Schooling encourages the children to discuss the natural colours and changes that occur throughout the year. The children set themselves challenges, considered safety and managed risks. The children had lots of fun burying each other under the leaves and jumping out, shouting ‘boo’!
