Kiddi Caru Market Harborough Rocket Off To Space!

At Kiddi Caru Market Harborough we love to let the children’s interests lead our activities to share with the rest of the room. So, after a child who recently joined the nursery told us he loved rockets, the staff thought of different ideas to incorporate this into learning and play.

The children were inspired by the story ‘Whatever Next’, which interlinked with the theme of Space and rockets.They started reading the story alongside homemade story spoons to help them to interact and act out the story. Then the children looked at images of real life rockets and went on their very own journey in their rocket boxes!

It is incredible how a child’s imagination can turn even the simplest object, such as a cardboard box, into their own rocket to go to Space!
