Snails Take Centre Stage At Kiddi Caru Redhill
The recent rainy weather resulted in new learning opportunities for the children at Kiddi Caru in Redhill, after they noticed that the showers had brought more snails into the nursery’s garden.
The children collected lots of snails so they could take a closer look at them. They examined their shells and looked at how they move along surfaces. With so many snail visitors the children were also able to compare sizes and work out which were the biggest and smallest.
Helen Atkin, Nursery Manager, said: “The children were intrigued by why there were so many snails in the garden after it had rained, so the staff taught them all about snails and encouraged them to collect some to examine them close up.”
