Searching for buried treasure at Kiddi Caru Burgess Hill
The pre-school children have been really interested in pirates and treasure recently. So, the team took them for a walk in the local area to bury treasure! They discussed the noticeable landmarks that they needed to note down near where the treasure was buried.
They then came back to the nursery and created a map, drawing the markers and putting an X to mark the spot where the treasure is hidden. They then passed the map to the children in the other room to go searching in the local area to see if they can find it!
This was a great activity to encourage the children to look at their surrounding and think logically when drawing the map. As well as developing their fine motor skills, pencil control and maths skills when looking at representing the size of the markers on the map.
