Police Visit Children At Kiddi Caru Harlow
The children at Kiddi Caru’s day nursery in Harlow received a special visit from local police officer PC Thorpe to learn more about how the police help people.
As well as being able to test a real police officer’s torch, radio and camera and try on his hat, which was heavier than they expected it to be, the children also tried on a pair of handcuffs for size. PC Thorpe spoke to the children about what he does and the equipment he uses every day and left them all with activity packs to complete and show to their parents.
Louise Farrow, Nursery Manager, said: “The children have been very interested in the different people who help us day to day, from the police and fire service to doctors, nurses and bus drivers. We are very lucky that an officer from our local police station was more than happy to visit us to tell the children about his job and give them some advice about how to stay safe.”
