Police Visit Children At Kiddi Caru Basingstoke
The children at Kiddi Caru’s day nursery in Basingstoke received a special visit from a policeman to learn more about how the police help people.
As well as being able to test a real police officer’s torch and try on his hat, which was heavier than they expected it to be, the children also tried on a pair of handcuffs for size. The officer spoke to the children about what he does and the equipment he uses every day. In addition to the very exciting visit the children have been dressing up as police officers and playing with police cars in the nursery’s small world area.
Helen Kinch, Nursery Manager, said: “The children have been very interested in the different people who help us day to day, from the police and fire service to doctors, nurses and bus drivers. We are very lucky that an officer from our local police station was more than happy to visit us to tell the children about their job and give them some advice about how to stay safe.”
