Life Cycle of a Ladybird at Kiddi Caru Caldecotte
The preschool children had a exciting time recently, as they have been learning about the life cycle of insects, when they found some very exciting and unusual looking bugs outside in the willow tree. After lots of questions and suggestions, the children used the computer to discover what the bugs were… baby ladybirds called a larva! The larva turns into a pupa and then into a adult (ladybird). The children were fascinated by this discovery and spent lots of time investigating and watching how the insects change. The children extended their learning and understanding by creating their very own larva bugs, pupa and ladybirds using loose parts.
