Kiddi Caru Whiteley Day Nursery Launches Family Week
As part of a long-term partnership, the children and staff at Kiddi Caru’s Whiteley day nursery is running a Family Week in support of Home-Start – UK the charity dedicated to supporting families with young children.
The Kiddi Caru Family Week will take place w/c 8th June 2015 and will be a celebration of all things family for example looking at families in different cultures and countries, family throughout the ages, famous real life and fictional families and even animal families.
Throughout the week the children will be making their family trees, using actual twigs and sticks from the nursery’s garden. Granddads are invited to visit for a Gardening with Granddad morning and there will be a family picnic tea too. There will also be a Cooking with Grandma day and a Bring Your Parent to Nursery Day!
In addition, on 13th June the nursery will be holding a Family Fun Day extravaganza, complete with a bake sale, face painting, parent races, match the mum to the staff member competition and family portrait painting to name a few. There will also be a car seat checking service for parents provided by Halfords. All money raised on the day will be donated to the Home-Start - UK charity.
Home-Start - UK is a national family support charity that helps parents to build better lives for their children. Volunteers provide support and friendship to more than 32,000 families every year.
Home-Start - UK wants to see a society in which every parent has the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life.
Since the launch of the partnership last year Kiddi Caru has already raised almost £2000 on behalf of the charity.
Lisa Roper, Business Manager, said: “The idea of inclusion is very important to us at Kiddi Caru and we are looking forward to holding our Family Week as it is aimed at focusing on families and especially highlighting the fact that all families are different.
“The Family Week will culminate in a Fun Day which will not only help us raise funds for an extremely worthy cause, but also reinforces Home-Start - UK and Kiddi Caru’s belief that every child is totally unique and in need of nurturing.”
