Kiddi Caru Peterborough Goes Wild For Nature
The children and staff at Kiddi Caru’s Peterborough day nursery have been getting back to nature by taking part in the Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild initiative.
The staff decided to bring the outdoors in, giving the children the opportunity to experience the texture of natural materials like leaves and soil with their bare feet. The children also made bird food using cheese, seeds, raisins and lard. They mixed all the ingredients together and made shapes with it then took it home to put in their gardens to see what birds would visit them.
Chia Wallace, Nursery Manager, said: “We did lots of activities for 30 Days Wild and the children very much enjoyed learning about all aspects of the outdoor environment. This is a great time of year to focus on nature as the changing seasons provide lots of exciting learning opportunities.”
