– Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool Harlow
Students from University Centre Harlow got to see inside an Ofsted Outstanding rated day nursery on Tuesday (25th February), when they visited Kiddi Caru Harlow to see the principles of excellent nursery provision in action.
Tutors at the University approached the day nursery, which has received three Outstanding ratings from Ofsted in a row, to see if they could bring some of their BA (Hons) Early Childhood Professional Studies students along to spend time in the nursery, get to know the different age groups and become more familiar with a real nursery environment.
At present the students are undertaking a module about outdoor play, so they also spent time in the nursery’s brand new custom designed garden area, which provides a whole host of outdoor learning experiences for the children to enjoy including a jungle garden, physical garden and sensory garden.
Jennie Gregory, Nursery Manager, said: “Nurturing our staff is a core philosophy at Kiddi Caru so it was a natural progression for us to also help those that are working towards a career in the childcare industry.
“The staff spent time with the students, discussing everything from their roles and responsibilities to how the children’s work is displayed within the nursery. We hope that the visit helped them to develop their knowledge and understanding of best practice within the early years setting.”
