Kiddi Caru Colchester Day Nursery Celebrates Ofsted Success
The team at Kiddi Caru’s Colchester day nursery are celebrating after the nursery received a good rating from Ofsted.
Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) inspect and regulate services which care for children and young people, and those providing education and skills for learners of all ages. They carry out a large number of inspections and regulatory visits across England.
The report praised the nursery manager’s effective programme of supervision and support for staff, which helps them to continually improve their teaching practice. The manager actively encourages staff to access training and they in turn enthusiastically use this to implement new ideas and activities to promote the children’s learning.
Also highlighted were the high-quality teaching skills displayed by the staff in the pre-school room. They engage the children in rich learning opportunities and motivate them to learn. The children listen well to the pre-school team and are eager to learn, and the staff effectively question children to help them develop their thinking skills and vocabulary.
The inspector recognised how the staff consistently promote positive behaviour among the children, encouraging them to follow rules and use good manners by praising them often. The children are also confident to make choices and express their needs and the staff are preceptive when these needs change.
Donna Papior, Nursery Manager, said: “We’re all delighted with this new report from Ofsted. Our aim at all times is to provide a high standard of care to give the children who come here the very best start in life. I’m very proud of the team here, and they should be extremely proud of themselves too. They all do a fantastic job and without them the nursery would not be able to provide such a wonderful offering for the children and their parents.”
