Elephant Day Celebrations At Kiddi Caru Peterborough
World Elephant Day came to Kiddi Caru in Peterborough this week (12th August), when the children did a host of activities inspired by the majestic mammal.
The children made elephant masks and trunks, so that they could pretend to be elephants. They talked about how elephants walk and how their trunks sway and ears flap as they move along. Once they had perfected their elephant walks they did a music and movement session incorporating elephant stomping.
Chia Wallace, Nursery Manager, said: “The children have a real affection for elephants, I think inspired by their love of the Elmer the Elephant stories. They enjoyed learning about where elephants live and had a fantastic time doing elephant stomping along to music.”
