Crafty Toddlers at Kiddi Caru Taunton
The children have loved exploring their creative talents, especially with their Father’s Day creations! The little ones had the opportunity to use PVA glue to stick shapes such as squares, triangles and circles. This was a great opportunity to discuss shapes and to practice recognising them. Each individual learns in a different way, many have shown an understanding of shapes, while others are enjoying to start learning about this.
The little ones have also built upon their interest in transport. The team incorporated this into different areas of play, such as sensory, creativity and free flow play. They encouraged talk of transport within the room and included this within water and sand play. The children enjoyed watching the boats float in the water and had great fun filling up the boats with water then pouring them out - making big splashes!
They also used toy cars to explore paint and made marks. The little ones pushed a car through paint and used it as a tool to print tracks on the paper. This supported the children's exploratory impulse and concentration span, whilst making a variety of marks which promotes exploration. They were provided with a variety of tools, from small toys to our whole bodies during body painting.
