Children At Kiddi Caru Master The Art Of Upcycling
The children at Kiddi Caru’s day nursery in Earls Court showed off their creative skills when they transformed some old paint tins into mini garden planters.
After the tins had been thoroughly cleaned by the staff, the children used different coloured paints to create bright designs on them. They then decided that the revamped tins would make great plant pots, so the nursery chef, Harold, helped them to plant vegetables in them. Harold also talked to the children about the different types of vegetables he uses and where he gets them from, and also how he uses them in the food he makes for their lunch.
Tamsin, Treves, Nursery Manager, said: “The plant pots the children made look wonderful and they are very happy that they were able to make something so lovely out of old paint tins that otherwise would have just been thrown away. They are now looking forward to watching the vegetables grow, harvesting and eating them.”
