Kiddi Caru Hitchin Celebrate Remembrance Day

The children at Kiddi Caru Hitchin wore red, poppies and talked about Remembrance Day. Using sticky back plastic and tissue paper, the children created a collage. The children cut and ripped the various colours of paper and stuck it on to the plastic.

We discussed what the colours of the poppies were and reserved the red and black for the different parts of the flowers. We also practised the poems ‘Flanders fields’  and ‘For the fallen’ and discussed that we say these poems to help us remember all the brave soldiers who fought at war to save our country. The children also successfully completed their 2 minute silence and recalled why this was important.
