Kiddi Caru Bedford: Eco-Schools

At Kiddi Caru in Bedford, the preschool children have recently enjoyed tending to their new indoor garden as part of working towards their Eco Award. They enjoyed looking at books about trees, wood and plant life and they have been taking it in turns to water the plants and tree.

The children have discussed the different colours and shades of the leaves they can see and have had fun comparing the leaf shapes and sizes.

The children have also been predicting if the tree will grow any bigger and have been comparing it to the size of their friends.

Eco Schools operates in 70 countries and engages 19.5 million young people globally. This makes Eco-Schools the largest educational programme on the planet!

They provide an engaging programme that encourages children to drive change and improve environmental awareness in their nursery, local community and beyond.

After completing the Eco Schools Early Years seven step process, we can apply for Green Flag accreditation, which recognises, rewards and celebrates the environmental achievements of young people.
