Kiddi Caru Team rises to the Challenge for Home-Start UK Fundraiser
A team of fitness fans from our head office has completed the first Race the Sun on the Isle of Wight, cycling and trekking nearly 60 miles across the island and raising £700 in the process for Home-Start UK.
This latest challenge saw the four strong team – the first all girls team to undertake Race the Sun - cycle 45 miles and trek 12 miles from Newport to the Needles, along the coast on the Tennyson Trail and back to Newport.
Last year a team from Head Office completed Race the Sun in the Brecon Beacons, rowing 3 miles, trekking 8 miles and cycling 47 miles, while in 2015 they undertook the equally impressive Snowdonia Charity Challenge. This involved cycling 40 miles as well as climbing Snowdon and canoeing across Lake Gwynant.
We raised another £700 for Home-Start UK to add to the £1,500 raised by our previous challenges. It’s amazing to think that so far we have cycled, trekked and rowed well over 155 miles and we are now looking forward to adding to this next year while continuing to raise funds for this amazing charity.
