Apprenticeships

If you would like to earn while you learn, then an apprenticeship is for you.

Our apprenticeships offer first-hand experience of nursery life working alongside some of the best in the industry who will support you to develop the skills and knowledge to play a key role in the success of one of our nurseries.

We employ apprentices with the expectation that they will reach Level 3 in childcare. We also offer apprenticeships to our existing employees who wish to gain childcare and leadership qualifications. We have many success stories of employees who have progressed into senior management and leadership roles.

What training will I undertake?

Our apprentices follow a Level 2 and then a Level 3 to become an Early Years Practitioner on Level 2, and an Early Years Educator on Level 3. Both have academic and practical elements. You will be required to produce a portfolio of work as well as having regular assessments by your tutor, peers and manager. You can enter at Level 2 or Level 3.

Apprenticeships for higher qualifications may be considered after 12 months of employment.

Where will I do my training?
We tailor our apprenticeships to the needs of the nursery and the individual. Our nurseries use approved Training Providers who send experienced assessors into the nursery where they observe, coach, assess and set assignments.
Will I have to do any work in my own time?
As with all qualifications there will be an element of studying that you will be required to do in your own time. In addition 20% of the working week will include shop floor learning, training courses or allocated study time for you.
How long does the apprenticeship last?
To achieve your Level 2 and Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Early Years will take a minimum of 12 months each to complete. This will give you enough time during this period to complete your full qualification.
What qualifications do I need to start?
Our aim is for you to achieve your Level 3 qualification; don’t worry if you missed out getting your required grades this time around, functional skills can be done as part of your apprenticeship. English and Maths Level 2 is required by end of apprenticeship to qualify.

Once qualified, we’d love to hear from you! Gaining your Level 2 is a guaranteed progression to Level 3.

What will I get paid?
Pay is in line with the National Minimum Wage rates for apprentices and are reviewed annually on the 1st October by the government.
What support will I get?
During your time with us you will get support from both your tutors and the staff within the nursery, many of which will have followed the apprenticeship route themselves. You will have a mentor throughout you studies and an assessor from an external training provider will visit regularly to guide and support you through your studies.
Will I get a job at the end of the apprenticeship?
On the successful completion of your apprenticeship journey, we will support you in applying for a full-time qualified role within our nurseries. Our aim is to offer a position once you are qualified.
