Caldecotte Nursery

Our nursery is located in the picturesque area of Caldecotte Lakes. The nursery comprises of six welcoming, friendly age appropriate playrooms all with adjacent nappy change and/or bathroom facilities. There are two secure outdoor play areas; one is for use by children aged over two years, the other for under two’s. As well as our own outdoor play areas we are fortunate to be located close to the lake which enables us to promote the environment with the children by taking them for walks around this beautiful area.

All playrooms have permanently based members of staff so that they can build up good relationships with the children and their families. This is supported by the use of our effective keycarer system. We at all times strive to maintain good communication between home and nursery by ensuring that families are well informed of their child’s activities and progress at nursery.

We believe that children learn best through play and first hand experiences. We also believe that all children develop differently at their own pace; therefore activities are planned with individual needs and interests in mind. We encourage children who come from different ethnic backgrounds to share their traditions and values with the other children and the staff plan activities around this to help the children understand and get an idea about their peers’ cultures. Staff recognise the benefits of physical activity for the children and ensure that good use is made of the nursery’s outdoor facilities as well as planning calming experiences such as yoga, music & movement and heuristic play.
